NAVARATRI - The Final Night

Goddess Durga

This last night of Navaratri is dedicated to the Goddess named Durga: Seated on a lion and carrying a trident, the legend of Her slaying the great demon Durgama, thus she is often named “Mahishasura”, as “asura” means demon and maha or mahi translates as “great.” Today (Tuesday) is known as Vijayadashami, or “Victory Day.” It symbolizes the victory over the inertia and limitations of the mind.
